The Roseville Shield has returned after three years of hiatus due to the pandemic with a great day for bowling at the Lindfield Rollers Club in East Lindfield.

Held on the 3rd of December 2022, the Roseville Shield involved some 22 teams who were eager for a friendly rivalry and the best time with their fellow bowlers.

The day’s competition followed a specific format for two games of fours played over 21 ends.

Following a close fight, the team from Manly Beach — with M. Wall, K. Smith, P. Coulton and G.Lewis — walked away with the win whilst the team from Lane Cove — K. Mulhall, S. Smith, K. Mulhall and S. Hobson — was the second place.

Meanwhile, Lindfield Rollers Club is part of the Zone 9 Bowls Club, which consists of 26 bowling groups across North Sydney and the Northern Beaches.

“There are a variety of competitions on offer to players at all levels at both Club and Zone level, plus state and national events are played throughout the course of the year,” Zone 9 stated.

“In New South Wales, we have strong representative pathways for players to compete in.  We have tenacious representation of both city and country players. Bowls NSW have representation at junior, under twenty five, opens and senior competitions conducted nationally. Many of our players, coaches and managers move on to represent Australia with the national body.”
