Roseville School Landscaping Area Reopens With Finishing Work Outstanding

Roseville school landscaping works have reached the reopening stage, with Roseville Public School reporting that fencing has been removed from the upgraded outdoor area despite some work remaining unfinished.

The school announced the reopening through its account, inviting people to inspect the changes. It also thanked past and present parents and carers who had contributed to fundraising and design work for the project. An earlier update at the start of Term 4 had reported progress on the landscaping, before the school confirmed that the area had opened. The work follows a $262,666.84 landscaping contract covering part of the school grounds on Archbold Road, including the existing sandpit, connecting pathways, garden edges and adjoining open space.

Roseville School Landscaping Contract

The NSW Government’s procurement disclosure identifies Yalgan Group Pty Ltd as the contractor engaged by School Infrastructure to undertake the work. The agreement took effect on 18 June 2026, with a scheduled end date of 10 September 2026. The estimated amount payable was $262,666.84, including GST.

The contract described plans to make the outdoor space more functional and engaging, particularly around the sandpit and adjoining areas. However, the published scope does not provide an itemised account of the physical changes. Whether the work included new shade, seating, play equipment or particular planting arrangements has not been established, nor have any specific accessibility improvements to the pathways.

The scheduled September end date also does not confirm when the work reached practical completion. Although the school has announced that the area is open, it has not provided a formal handover date in the available material.

Parents Contributed To Fundraising And Design

The school’s acknowledgement of parents and carers follows fundraising efforts organised through the Roseville Public School P&C Association. The association supports educational resources and infrastructure improvements, with an annual fundraising target of $150,000. Its fundraising information specifically includes landscaping among the projects for which donations are sought.

The school has confirmed parental involvement in fundraising and design for the landscaped area. However, the amount contributed through those activities to the particular construction contract has not been established. The school’s invitation to inspect the area also does not specify whether the landscaped section is accessible to the general public outside school hours.

The procurement disclosure lists no amendments to the published contract. The final expenditure, detailed record of completed landscaping features and formal handover date remain unconfirmed in the material available for review.
